Kek is the gift that keeps on giving.
After the news of John McCain’s fastest growing type of brain cancer, Linkin Park frontman and Hillary Clinton supporter, Chester Bennington was found dead of apparent suicide.
Having struggled with drugs and alcohol for years, he admitted to smoking pot since 11 then the drug use spiraled into cocaine and meth. Bennington noted that in the past he considered committing suicide due to being sexually abused as a seven-year-old by a friend, an older kid.
Ironically enough, he was close friends with Audioslave and Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, who hung himself at the age of 52 in his MGM Grand Detroit hotel room back in May. Upon learning of Cornell’s death, the rock singer wrote an open letter to Cornell recalling the impact his friend had on him.
In the field of politics, Chester Bennington publicly voiced his support of former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, during the Presidential Elections:
Asked in a 2012 interview with Independent Philly if he wears his political affiliations on his sleeve, Bennington said:
“It’s such a private and personal moment to kind of choose who you think is going to be the best leader. And the last thing you want to do is influence somebody else to vote based on what they think of you as opposed to what they think of the politician they’re voting for. So we definitely don’t really kind of brag about who we’re going to vote for, but we do talk about the things that are important to us. And the things that are very important to us at this point are really making sure that our tours are as environmentally friendly as possible, and also giving back to our local community as well as the world community that has been so good to us.”
…but in the end it doesn’t even matter.
