A Swedish court has convicted and sentenced a Somalian migrant to 11 years in prison after he raped a nine-year-old girl at knifepoint earlier this year, his second child rape conviction in three years.
Ahmed M. dragged the child into a nearby bush, beat her and threatened the girl with a knife. He then dragged her into a forested area where he raped her. The 39-year-old is even said to have threatened to kill the girl and her family if she told police, Nyheter Idag reports.
Ahmed M forced the nine-year-old girl into a bush, took off her clothes and smeared her in mud and severely abused her. Ahmed M. is now sentenced for aggravated rape of a child to eleven years in prison by the district court, something SVT reported on. But Somali Ahmed M. – who was conditionally released from prison prematurely for another sex crime against a twelve-year-old – escapes deportation. He became a Swedish citizen in 2014.
The man is also convicted of extremely serious assault, kidnapping and assault in court. In addition to the eleven-year prison sentence – which in practice means just over seven years with Swedish rules on penalty rebates – Ahmed M. must pay SEK 240,000 in damages to his nine-year-old victim.
On April 15, the nine-year-old girl was on her way home from school when Ahmed M. dragged her into a bush. There he took her clothes under the threat of a knife and sadistically raped her.
From the verdict:
“Inside the forest he took off her clothes and smeared all over her with clay… He also forced her to have water and clay in her mouth and wanted her to swallow.”
The monster then tied and strangled his nine-year-old victim with his plastic-gloved hands. He then completed the assault.
After the assault, he threatened to kill the girl and her family if she told about the rape.
The monster Ahmed M. was recently released prematurely after serving a prison sentence for aggravated child sexual abuse. In 2017, he lured a twelve-year-old girl into a basement and threatened her with life with a knife to her neck, forced her to take off her clothes in front of him and then raped her. Even at that time, Ahmed M. used plastic gloves.
Ahmed M. was sentenced to 21 months in prison for abusing the 12-year-old. He was released on parole last autumn, after serving just over a year in prison.
Since Ahmed M. became a Swedish citizen in 2014, he could not be deported after his previous crime according to current legislation. He is originally from Somalia and was registered in Sweden in 2005.
Sweden’s migrant rape problem
Although migrants are only a small fraction of the population of Sweden, they are greatly overrepresented in sexual offense statistics in the country.
In 2018, SVT indicated that 58 percent of men with rape or attempted rape convictions in Sweden over the preceding five years were immigrants born outside the European Union, with most of them coming from North Africa, South Africa, Afghanistan, and the Middle East.
The BBC also reported that in cases were victims did not know their attackers, the proportion of foreign-born men convicted of sexual assault was 80 percent.
In 2018, Swedish newspaper Expressen also reported on this growing trend in Sweden. After an investigation into the court cases involving gang rape over the previous two years, the paper found that there were 43 men convicted of the offense. The paper also determined that of the 40 out of the 43 men with gang rape convictions were either immigrants who were born abroad or born in Sweden to immigrant parents
